With houses made of dark lavastone and “lauze” stone roofs, Salers is an unspoilt typical village of the Cantal. Nearby there are fantastic panoramic views over the Puy Violent and surrounding green valleys.

At the center of the Dordogne valley, by visiting Beynac-et-Cazenac you go back in time to the Richard I of England (Richard the Lionheart) era. A gabare tour on the river gives another point of view of the castle.
The bastide of Domme is worth a visit. Take the time to wander throught the narrow streets of the historical centre before reaching the panoramic viewpoint.
See this must-see site of the valley from a different point of view by reaching the cliffs and enjoy the view at twilight. (follow the sign “les côtes” from the Bambousaie car park).
